Growing number of middle-aged men are going off s*x, according to relationship experts.
s*x therapy and counselling charity Relate says it has seen a 40 per cent increase in men seeking help because they have lost interest in making love to their wives and partners.
Relate's Peter Bell told The Telegraph: "Men used to come to us with impotence – now known as erectile insufficiency – but Viagra has sorted some of that problem."
"What we have is a lot of men who say, as women did in the 1950s: 'I can have s*x but I do not want to. It's not rewarding'."
“It is a serious issue. It counts as a pychosexual dysfunction rather than just a relationship problem, because these men haven't simply gone off their partner but off s*x altogether.”
Just ten years ago, hardly any men contacted Relate complaining about a loss of libido, he added.
The main sufferers tend to be married and aged between 30 to 50.
As well as high rates of depression in men in this age group, long working hours and stress may also contribute to this trend.
Professor Cary Cooper, head of British Association of Counselling, said: "People can find it impossible to switch off and relax."
